These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rally iOS app, the therallyapp.co website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Rally ("Rally," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Rally. If you are under 18, you may use Rally only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf. You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
Rally is a social platform centered around run clubs, group activities, community, and meeting people who run. The Service helps you discover runs and activities, RSVP and check in, connect with other runners, join communities, and participate in messaging and social features.
Rally provides digital access through the app and related online services. There is no physical product, shipping, or physical fulfillment. Paid access, when offered, begins according to the purchase and activation flow shown in the app at the time of purchase.
During free launch periods, core features may be available without payment. Rally may add, change, limit, or remove features, activities, clubs, users, or communities at any time. We do not guarantee the availability of any particular feature, activity, club, user, or community.
Rally is built for respectful, real-world running communities. Your access to the Service depends on interacting with others appropriately. You must use Rally in a way that is respectful and must not use Rally in a way that is harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, deceptive, unsafe, or disruptive.
You agree not to engage in conduct including, but not limited to:
Prohibited conduct may occur through profiles, Nods, messages, invitations, plans, events, reports, or other Rally features.
Relevant conduct may also include behavior occurring at a Rally-connected run, club, event, meetup, or other real-world interaction between users who connected through or participated together on Rally. Rally does not claim unlimited authority over all aspects of a user's private life. Rally may, at its discretion, consider off-platform conduct when it is reasonably connected to user safety, a Rally interaction, a Rally-connected event, a run club listed or organized through Rally, another Rally user, or the integrity or safety of the Rally community.
Our Community Guidelines explain these expectations in clearer, community-oriented language.
The Service may display runs, workouts, social gatherings, and other activities created or hosted by independent clubs, captains, organizers, venues, or users. Activity details — including time, location, pace, route, capacity, and description — are provided by the individuals or groups who create them.
Rally does not guarantee that any activity will occur as described, on schedule, at the listed location, or at all. Activities may be modified, delayed, canceled, or relocated by their hosts or participants. You are responsible for confirming details and deciding whether to participate.
Unless Rally expressly states otherwise in writing, run clubs, captains, hosts, organizers, venues, and users who create or list activities are independent third parties. Listing or displaying an activity in the Service does not mean that Rally organizes, supervises, sponsors, endorses, verifies, employs, or controls that activity or its host.
Independent hosts are not automatically employees, agents, representatives, or partners of Rally. Rally does not guarantee the conduct, identity, qualifications, fitness, intentions, compatibility, or safety of any host, club, organizer, venue, or participant.
Participation in running and other physical or social activities arranged through Rally may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
You are solely responsible for deciding whether you are physically able and willing to participate in any activity. You should use appropriate judgment, follow applicable laws and event rules, and consult a qualified medical professional when appropriate before beginning or continuing strenuous physical activity. Rally does not provide medical advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with your participation in physical activities and offline events, whether organized through Rally or otherwise connected to your use of the Service.
Rally helps people discover communities and coordinate activities, but you make your own decisions about interacting with and meeting other users. Rally does not guarantee the identity, intentions, compatibility, conduct, background, or safety of any user.
Use judgment when sharing personal information and when meeting others in person. Meet in public places when possible, tell someone you trust where you are going, and stop contacting anyone who has hidden, restricted, blocked you, or asked not to be contacted. You are responsible for your own interactions, subject to applicable law.
Rally may consider reports of real-world conduct when the conduct has a meaningful connection to the Service or the Rally community. Examples may include conduct at a run or event discovered through Rally, at a club represented on Rally, between users who met through Rally, arising from a Nod, connection, chat, invitation, or plan, involving retaliation for a Rally safety action, or creating a credible safety concern for continued participation in Rally.
Rally does not monitor all events, supervise run clubs, conduct background checks on every user, guarantee user safety, verify every allegation, or control independent clubs or organizers. Users remain responsible for their own interactions and decisions.
You may report concerns through Rally's available reporting tools, including from profiles and messages. You may also hide your profile from another user, restrict interaction, or block another user using the safety controls available in the app.
Rally may review reports, request additional information, review relevant account activity, consider multiple reports or patterns of behavior, take temporary protective action while reviewing a serious concern, share information where legally required, and contact appropriate authorities when permitted or required by law. Rally does not promise a specific investigation process, response time, or outcome for every report. Not every report will result in enforcement. Rally does not promise to disclose whether another user was warned or suspended, details of an investigation, or confidential information about another account. Rally may protect reporter privacy where appropriate.
Rally provides safety controls that allow users to set boundaries. If another user hides, restricts, blocks, rejects, or reports you, you must respect that boundary. It is a violation of these Terms to:
Rally may consider patterns of behavior rather than requiring every individual report to independently establish a violation. Rally may consider multiple independent reports, repeated unwanted contact, repeated safety concerns, prior enforcement history, attempts to circumvent previous restrictions, and patterns across different clubs or events. Rally does not maintain a public reputation score and does not promise automatic enforcement based only on the number of reports. Rally may evaluate the available context and credibility of information.
When there may be an immediate or serious safety concern, Rally may take temporary action before reaching a final conclusion. Temporary action may include limiting account visibility, disabling Nods, disabling messaging, preventing social discovery, restricting event participation features, or suspending an account. Temporary action does not necessarily mean Rally has reached a final conclusion about a report or violation.
Rally may restrict, suspend, or permanently ban users whose behavior violates these Terms, creates a safety concern, harms other users, or undermines the safety and integrity of the Rally community. Rally may take action when it reasonably believes a user:
Possible actions include issuing a warning; limiting account features or visibility; preventing contact with specific users; restricting Nods, messaging, or event or social participation; removing content; temporarily suspending an account; permanently terminating an account; and preventing the creation of replacement accounts.
Rally may choose the action it considers appropriate based on factors such as severity, credibility of available information, immediacy of risk, repeated behavior, prior warnings, attempts to evade enforcement, and the need to protect users or the community. Rally is not required to use progressive discipline and may permanently ban a user without first issuing a warning when the circumstances reasonably justify immediate action.
Users whose accounts are suspended or terminated may not create replacement accounts, use another person's account, misrepresent their identity, or access Rally through another method intended to evade enforcement. Rally may terminate related accounts reasonably believed to be used for ban evasion. Rally does not represent that it can identify every related account.
Rally is not a safety guarantor, emergency service, or law enforcement agency. Rally does not promise to monitor all User Content, prevent every incident, investigate every report, verify every allegation, or resolve every safety concern. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Rally may offer paid memberships or subscriptions that unlock certain digital features. When offered, pricing, billing frequency, and included features are shown in the app at the time of purchase. You will see the amount charged and billing frequency before you complete a purchase. There are no hidden mandatory fees beyond what is disclosed at checkout.
Purchasing Rally+ or any paid membership does not limit Rally's right to suspend or terminate an account for conduct violations. Paid users are subject to the same conduct rules as free users. A subscription does not guarantee continued access after a Terms violation. Termination for misconduct may affect access to paid features. Refund eligibility after account termination is governed by applicable law, Apple's policies for Apple-billed purchases, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy for Stripe-billed purchases.
The first 1,000 activated members receive Rally+ free for life after completing their profile and joining or checking into a run. After those Founding Member spots are claimed, Rally+ is $9.99/month or $79.99/year. Pricing and billing frequency are shown in the app before you complete purchase. You will not be charged automatically.
Paid memberships provide digital access only. There is no shipping, physical delivery, or physical fulfillment. Access begins when your purchase is confirmed according to the activation flow in the app.
Stripe checkout: When membership is purchased through Rally's web checkout (powered by Stripe), payment is processed by Stripe according to Stripe's terms and privacy practices. Rally does not store your full payment card details.
Apple In-App Purchase: If membership is offered through Apple In-App Purchase on iOS, payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund requests for those purchases are generally handled through your Apple account and Apple's applicable policies. Rally cannot directly issue refunds for Apple-processed purchases.
Rally Original recognition is assigned to the first 1,000 eligible users according to in-app and server-side eligibility rules. Rally Originals receive complimentary access to Rally's core membership for the life of their account, subject to these Terms. After the first 1,000 Rally Originals, Rally+ is required for premium social features when Rally is in paid mode.
Subscriptions, when offered, renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You are charged at the start of each billing period according to the plan you selected.
How to cancel:
Fees are generally not prorated when you cancel before the end of a billing period unless required by applicable law or expressly stated at purchase.

You may submit content such as profile information, messages, reports, and other materials ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant Rally a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and use User Content as needed to operate, improve, and secure the Service.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit User Content and that your User Content does not violate these Terms or applicable law.
Rally and its branding, design, software, and content (excluding User Content) are owned by Rally or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party websites, payment processors, clubs, venues, or services. Rally is not responsible for third-party content, policies, practices, or conduct. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RALLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, RALLY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE; THAT ACTIVITY INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE OR CURRENT; THAT ANY CLUB, EVENT, OR USER WILL BE AVAILABLE; THAT THIRD-PARTY CONTENT WILL BE RELIABLE; THAT USERS OR HOSTS WILL BEHAVE APPROPRIATELY; THAT ANY ACTIVITY OR OFFLINE INTERACTION WILL BE SAFE; OR THAT ANY SOCIAL OR COMMUNITY OUTCOME WILL OCCUR.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RALLY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING CLAIMS RELATED TO PARTICIPATION IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES, INTERACTIONS WITH USERS, INDEPENDENT HOSTS OR CLUBS, INACCURATE OR OUTDATED EVENT INFORMATION, CANCELED OR CHANGED ACTIVITIES, INJURIES, PROPERTY LOSS, USER-GENERATED CONTENT, DATA LOSS, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RALLY'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID RALLY IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rally and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
You may stop using Rally at any time. Rally may suspend or permanently terminate your access if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, create a safety risk, harass or threaten another person, attempt to evade enforcement, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we discontinue the Service. Rally may take enforcement action as described in Section 10, including temporary protective action, feature restrictions, and permanent account bans, without prior warning when circumstances reasonably justify immediate action.
If your account is suspended or terminated for misconduct, you may lose access to paid features. Subscription cancellation and refund eligibility are governed by Section 11, Section 13, applicable law, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice in the app or on this page. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, excluding conflict of law rules, except where prohibited by applicable law.
